I am an hindu girl 29 yrs and i want to marry a muslim guy 32yr . can i get married under special marriage act with less then 30 days notice period. I want to marry as early as possible as my parents are forceing me to marry someone else . Will any notice or letter be sent to my or his family on the basis of the address proof given by us to registrar ? Is there any provision in the act where waiting period of 30 days can be made less . We both are staying in the same city since a long time .can we marry under the act in a week or two ?

Registration of marriage is a mode of proof of marriage. Bridegroom and bride should give notice of intended marriage 30 days in advance for the solemnization of marriage along with prescribed fees is mandatory.
If no objections are received within 30 days from the date of notice of intended marriage, bridegroom and bride should appear before the Marriage Officer within next 60 days after lapse of initial 30 days from such notice along with three witnesses for solemnisation of the Marriage. Marriage Officer after following procedure prescribed under act and rules will solemnise the marriage.

Not possible as the 30 days time is mandatory if your parents are forcing you then file a complaint against them.
The notice can be issued or affixed on the notice board of the office of registrar.
Or solemnized the marriage after conversion because within one or two week, it is not possible to get solemnization of marriage under special marriage act.

2. If your parents are forcing you to get married against your wishes then you and your boyfriend may file a petition for protection in the High Court.
3. To marry within a week under Special Marriage Act is not possible. Approach the High Court for protection.

You will have to wait for 30 days and there is no escape from this.
Publication of intention of marriage will be made in local newspapers and no notice will be sent to the address.
Also, you may seek police protection after filing intention of marriage under the Special Marriage Act.

1. The Statutory provisions cannot be diluted and accordingly the mandatory period of 30 days cannot be reduced.
2. However, you may take protection from office of Superintendent of police of your district in case anybody threatens any one of you.
3. You may also approach Civil Court and file a suit for permanent injunction restraining your parents from taking you forcibly to their house.
4. You may also any other authority for protection and if you are in so urgency then you may approach the authorities of ARYA SAMAJ then they will perform your marriage immediately but as per their customs, it is also a valid marriage as per judgments of Supreme Court. Choice is yours.
Yes letter will be sent to both families issued by registrar. One of you can converted into other's religion then go for the immediate shadi or nikah whatever. Otherwise there is no option to lesser the 30 days period.

For commencing the process of marriage registration under this Act, and even before submitting the above mentioned documents, both parties have to give a 30-day notice to the sub-registrar in whose jurisdiction at least one spouse has resided.
Both parties are required to be present after the submission of the documents for the issuance of public notice inviting objections. One copy of the notice is pasted on the notice board of the office and another copy of the notice is sent via registered post to both the parties as per the address given by them.

The following are the essential conditions to be fulfilled for the registration of

2. Neither party is an idiot or lunatic
3. Bridegroom has completed the age of 21 year and the Bride has completed
the age of 18 years
4. Both the Bridegroom and Bride are not within the prohibited relationship
The Special Marriage Act is applicable to all citizens of India irrespective of their religion.
