• Illegal disconnection of electricity

TPDDL have disconnected my power supply on 28th August 2017 without informing me and without serving notice of disconnection for non payment of bills.

I contended, I cannot pay the bills if the bills are not delivered to me. There is sufficient evidence and witnesses.

TPDDL replied with a written list of person names to whom bills and notices were delivered.

I have clearly told TPDDL that none of the persons as to whom their concerned team claims to deliver the bill and notice, do not live at the premises.

I further contended,In case, TPDDL choose to deliver bill and notice to some other person at some other premises then TPDDL shall disconnect the power of that some other person and of some other premises.

TPDDL still disconnected my power.

There is sufficient evidence and witnesses.

Can I File a Suit that TPDDL deliberately and unnecessarily caused mental and physical harassment to me, by disconnecting my power. TPDDL shall immediately compensate me for their legal wrong.

Hi

Yes you are very much eligible to file a complaint against TPDDL for compensating you regarding mental physical and social harrassment you faced due to disconnection of your electricity.

Also file for reconnection of your electricity supply in consumer court.

Present your proofs and Witnesses in court and you will get the connection and compensation , both the things.

Apart from filing a suit at TPDDL you can also file a writ in the HC and can get appropriate order for connection of your electricity.

Also you can file a case against them in the consumer forum for deficiency of services.

Serve them with a legal notice in advance.

Regards and Thanks

Hi

You should have filed for temporary injunction or stay order. There would have been instant action by court. But it's ok you have paid the amount now.

You can file for compensation now also.

Go ahead

Thank You

Sir, you should not be knowing the procedure, if you visit a good lawyer, tomorow, a writ can be prepared in a day and can be filed by evening the same day and copies be served by hand and moved as unlisted the next morning in court. Compensation is rare or can be asked in writ itself but restoration can happen with immediate effect.

Yes, you can file the suit for damages caused to you by TPDDL. Hire a local lawyer and file a suit if you have time, money and energy to contest the suit, if not, be conscious & aleart in paying the electricity bill in time. If there is no bill received from them, get a duplicate copy and pay the bill in time and cheers with your family.

Can I File a Suit that TPDDL deliberately and unnecessarily caused mental and physical harassment to me, by disconnecting my power. TPDDL shall immediately compensate me for their legal wrong.

You can file an injunction suit against the authority for having disconnected the power services, however you should bear it in mind that you are obliged to pay the dues to the power company when you have agreed to utilise their services and have utilised the services.

However they cannot disconnect the basic amenities for any reason, hence you may argue before court on this basis for restoration of power supply on the assurance that you will pay back the dues from your side immediately after the power supply is restored.

Immediately move to the High Court and file a writ of mandamus seeking a direction from the court to TPDDL to re-connect and provide you with electricity supply.

Challenge the instant disconnected because the same is illegal for you were not given an opportunity of hearing before this harsh decision was taken by TPDDL.
