Hello,

You will have to visit the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate in whose jurisdiction death took place i.e., Delhi in your case. Please visit the Delhi office for certificate after obtaining a certificate from the cremation center.

Regards You can find the concerned office at the following link:

-Obtain the cremation certificate from the crematorium in Punjab.

-On the basis of this cremation certificate, apply for his death certificate with the concerned Municipal Corp. in Punjab within whose jurisdiction this crematorium falls.

Dear Concerned,

Generally the Death Certificate / information is issued by the Hospital and also by the Cremation Ground Authorities. You need to apply for Registration at Delhi being place of Death.

Yes that will do, but mostly it depends on the office where you will apply for the same. At time they accept the certificate from doctors and at times they necessarily ask for the certificate from cremation ground.

You may please visit the office first.

Hello,

1) Ideally the death must be registered where the death occurred and it must be done within 21 days of the death of the person.

2) Alternately you can obtain a Cremation Certificate from the crematorium where he was cremated and register the death in Punjab and also obtain the Death Certificate from the same place.

Since the cremation was done in Punjab you should obtain a certificate from the crematorium and then on the basis of it apply to the Registrar of Births and Deaths in Delhi to register the death.

Though the death has taken place in Delhi, the body was cremated in Punjab only hence the death certificate can be obtained on the basis of the cremation records which are held in Punjab.

This is not a valid death certificate.

The death certificate shall be issued by the competent authority namely registrar of births and deaths or by the local civic body.
