I wanted to know if it is possible to get a duplicate divorce papers in the following situation: 1. I do not have photocopy or petition number or any other identification number of original document. 2. I have the court which was Family Court in Mumbai. I had gone to fourth floor. 3. I have the date and time when I went. (year was 2008) These are for my papers.With the above how can one get the papers again?

Generally all courts maintain records of disposed cases till 8 years.
Also courts maintain something called SUIT EXTRACT REGISTER and this register is available for almost all cases since independence.
So, you can always go to the concerned court and get details of your case from suit extract register and based on suit extract register, you can apply for orders copies of your case.
Either you can go to concerned court in person or appoint a lawyer in mumbai to do the work for you.

You can apply at the copying agency in court..every court has 1..contact a advocate of that perticular court.. Provide him the title(names)of both parties.the year of filing... As the family court is a special court.. It may take some time .. But he will find out..
