If your wife is an Indian citizen and would like to avail the rights of the marriage as per Indian laws and also for solving the issues arising out of matrimonial disputes in future, it is advisable that the marriage may be registered under the provisions of Special Marriage act through Indian consulate/Embassy at UK, by adhering to the procedures that may be informed to you by the authorities concerned.
Dear client, If you wish to register it in India then you may do so, but this is not mandatory. Since your wife is an Indian citizen and Hindu by religion a certificate of marriage registration either under Hindu Marriage Act or under Special Marriage Act is essential.
A marriage duly registered in Netherlands with Indian national is as valid as registered in India. No need to register marriage again in India.
1. Since the marriage is already registered in Netherlands as also she is living and working in U.K., there's no need to register the marriage if she has denounced Indian Citizenship and has become a Citizen of some other Country.
2. In case she continues to be Indian Citizen and possess properties in India, then it's advisable to register the marriage in India also.
If your marriage is already registered in Netherlands, then dual registration is not mandatory but optional.
