So there's this bengali girl whom I met in Bengaluru in October, 2021 on tinder. We dated for around 1 month and then started getting physical with each other (WITHOUT ANY FUTURE PROMISE - evidence can be taken from whatsapp chats). When we were dating she used to date couple of guys and I ignored because anyway we were not serious in anyway. My worst nightmare came when she started dating my best friend. It was hard for both of us and she even told me at one time that she wanted both of us. Time passed and she broke up with him and her engagement with me continued. Now lately when I wanted to leave her, she has become extremely furious and tells me that she just can not let me go and she threatens me that she will commit suicide and tells me that I have used her sexually and she will go to any length to fuck my life. Right now she has literally forced me into a toxic relationship. I just want to get out of this - but before I also want to prepare for the worst from legal perspective - because after all this is India and I am a man. Some key points: (1) Every time we went physical, it was in a hotel room - so, all details can be traced back. Ofcourse it was purely consensual as she had produced her ID and signatures on every checkin. (2) Above point should have made it clear but we were not in any kind of live-in relationship. (3) She knows my father's name, mother's name and my paternal address. Advice me so that I prepare for the worst incase she wants to go full-blown to destroy my life. In other words, I want to know the worst that she can damage me if she doesn't care about her social reputation (because she doesn't). Also, some advice to deal with her suicidal threats would be helpful.

She can send you to jail, it costs nothing to her, only a complaint to police or even to email to National Commission for Women for cheating, by using her and is not keeping promise to marry; for rape; etc. You may come out to this after trial but takes years for trial months to obtain bail. Settle with her on her terms, forget it as bad dream.

If she is giving suicidal threats then you should-
- It is advised to visit, the police station and speak to the station officer or inspector about it.
- Inform local SHO of the police station and inform him through an application stating that this girl is having suicidal tendencies and you should not be held responsible in case such a thing happens. Inform the same to her parents and also make her attend counseling.

Hi, You need to handle in diplomatic way. You can avoid her gradually. Don't avoid her immediately. Don't go for physical relationship with her in future, don't give your residential address or any other personal information. Try to avoid her gradually. Nothing will happen be brave.
You have two options before you:
1) To issue a legal notice to her stating that your relationship with her was just friendly and not with any motive to marry each other, and that the intimacy between both was consensual and not on any condition, besides that you both never promised each other to get married neither you were in live in relationship.
Now that her suicidal threats and other activities assassinating your character and exploitation is nothing but being done with an intention to extort money, hence warn her to refrain from indulging in such activities with immediate forthwith lest you may have to take legal action against her through criminal laws;
Alternately you can adopt the second option, i.e., to give a complaint to the police before she approaches police with her own complaint and explain all the details in your complaint especially about suicidal threats and activities to extort money from you, besides her character of having indulged in relationship with various guys earlier and continues to date with other guys, you can name a few in your complaint.
You may inform your parents about this issue and always take their support especially while going to the police station.
1. In case she threatens you that she would commit suicide, complain against her to the Police Station informing that she has been blackmailing you and if she commits suicide, you should not be held liable for abetment to suicide.
2. Collect evidence of her dating with other guys so that it can be proved that you were not the only person who was into physical relationship with her.

- Supreme court declared that , when a man and a woman in love live together , is part of the right to life and not a criminal offence, and further live-in relationships is legal in India.

- Hence, the consent for physical relation obtained by giving false promise of marriage is amounts to rape.
- Since, she having the sex relationship with without any promise of marriage , then it will not considered as an offence of rape.
- Further, as she is threatening for suicide , then you can lodge a compliant as information before the police and higher official after stating that she forcibly having relation with you , and for having sex she used to threaten for committing suicide , hence if such will happened in future , then you will not be responsible for the same.
If you will go fighting mode then it will take time and you will lose a lot of things like reputation, time, money energy and may also get free food and lodging in jail for some time.
This can e handled more tactfully. Obviously it will also cost time, money energy but lesser than 1st option and will also save your reputation.
