You cannot solemnise online court marriage

for marriage under provisions of special marriage act 30 days notice of intended marriage has to be given by parties

physical presence would be necessary for solemnisation of marriage

Yes marriage can be performed through video conferencing. Permission has to be obtained stating extraordinary circumstances.

Dear Sir/ Ma'am,

The procedure of court marriage in India cannot be performed online and the bride and groom need to appear before the Marriage Registrar at least twice to get their marriage registration done.

Thank You.

Hello,

  1. For the registration of your marriage, you both have to be physically present. There's no provision for registration of marriage online.
  2. You can apply for registration while you are still overseas through your intending spouse. The one who is our of India must get embassy attestation on application form.
  3. From the time of application, within 60 days you must both appear before the Registrar of Marriages to register the marriage.

- As per the Delhi High court judgment marriage can be registered through online mode if one of the parties is unable to appear due to any specific reasons

- Hence, the party who is unable to appear before the marriage registrar due to covid-19 can move an application for giving the VC facility.

Registration of marriage through online process is possible but the solemnisation of marriage through online process may not be recognised as a legally valid marriage.
