You can apply for certified copy of birth certificate by filing an application before the registrar of birth and death at place where her birth is registered .

Further for lost certificate give a police complaint and obtain a lost certificate from police.

If the original document s lost or destroyed and its photocopy is available then on the basis of the same the holder of the document can apply for duplicate copy of it from the issuing authority .

So ask your wife to apply to the issuing authority of her birth certificate in Kerala

We suggest you to apply for the birth certificate at the local municipal department where you previously obtained the birth certificate.

They will issue you another birth certificate by taking certain prescribed fees.

She can make an application for issuing a duplicate birth certificate. She may have to adduce an affidavit stating she has lost the original, which, despite the best of her efforts, is untraceable and there's no probabilty of it being found ever. She must first of all approach the concerned government department (,of registration of birth and death) to enquire about the procedure involved for issuing a duplicate birth certificate. There she will be informed about the manner in which.such application is to be proferred and all documents required to be adduced

First you lodge a complaint with the Police about the same, obtain acknowledgement from them.

Thereafter, you can make an application to the Registrar of Births & Deaths at concerned place to issue a duplicate birth certificate by enclosing the Photo Copy of the same.

You should go to the State Registeration Office , where the said birth certificate was issued as per xerox copy , and move an applicatoin to replace the lost birth certificate.

- Since, you have details in said xerox copy , you can also download from the official website http://www.ejanma.karnataka.gov.in

- Even , if the said birth certificate not available in the website , then on the ground of said xerox copy she is eligible to get a new birth certificate , and she can apply through above website as well.

- You may be asked to submit Aadhaar/passport/10th/12th admit cards etc

Dear Sir.

You can apply to the information officer of the concerned authority where you were born to issue a copy of your birth certificate. This request can be made from Indore itself under the provisions of The Right To Information Act. Attach a postal order of Rs. 10/ . Fill in the RTI application form in detail and send it to the said officer through Registered AD Post and request for sending the same to you through post and mention that you are ready to pay for additional charges that may be required.

In my opinion open the RTI Act on your net and go through the provisions of the same for absolute knowledge and information.

For this you should have the knowledge of the date of registration and the registration no. Of your entry of birth and other particulars.

If you are not aware of this information then you have no option except to personally visit the concerned office in Karnataka and move an application under RTI Act for inspection of the relevant record of your year of birth and after inspecting the said record you will have all the knowledge for filling in the application for obtaining your birth certificate .apply for issue of more than one copy as you may need as extra originals come in use as it would have in your present case.
