• Rectification required in Release Deed

In 6 places only the Apartment number S2(belonging to my sister) is mentioned in Release Deed of brothers and sisters instead of Apartment S1( which is owned by me.
Now if Rectification has to be made is same Release Deed is required to be done incurring Stamp Duty of Rs 5000 and Registration Charges of Rs 1000. Kindly clarify the matter.

For rectification an application has to be made and you are not required to pay the entire amount again.

This is simple mistake which can be corrected by a deed of declaration or deed of rectification.

Registering such deed does not attract any stamp duty and registration fees like a sale deed or deed of release.

To know the actual fees and duty better talk to the registration officials.

There would be a fixed stamp duty and registration fee incurred on the registration of the Rectification of the Release Deed. You will not have once again pay stamp duty and registration charges of Rs.5,000/- and Rs.1,000/-. Hope this clarifies

For rectification deed there is no necessity to pay the stamp duty again, only registration charges will be sufficient.
