there is no centralized marriage registration database, you can do it.Legally that is possible. For example, the Hindu marriage between two Hindus which is registered under the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 with the Registrar of Marriages can be got registered under section 15 of the Special Marriage Act,1954 and after that registration the Hindu marriage shall be covered under the Special Marriage Act,1954 for all purposes.

1. You can not remarry the same person with whom you have already got married.

2. If the marriage as per Hindu rites was performed , you can get a marriage certificate from your present place of stay or from the place where the marriage was performed.

1. You can get your marriuage solemnised  at Punjab registered before the Court at Gujrat after affirming your said religious marriage under affidavit.

2. This is a simple step which any lawyer of your local court at Gujrat can arrange.

Non registration does not affect validity of marriage

2) since marriage was solemnised in Punjab abd you were residing in Punjab registration has to be done in Punjab only

3) no need to remarry your wife

Sir

You can get your marriage registered in Gujarat itself, you don require to go to Punjab, kindly approach your local SDM, you just need your ID proofs such as birth certificate to prove ur age and proof of marriage like a certificate which must have been issued by the Place you got married.

Another marriage without dissolving the first marriage is illegal and a punishable offence.

I would not advise you to do the same.

If your first wife gains the knowledge about the same then she might register an FIR

you may get the previous marriage registered in Gujrat.

The marriage was performed in Punjab. You live in Gujarat. The marriage can be registered in Gujarat itself at the deputy Registrar office in your district.you don't have to marry her again.

Dear Sir,

Remarriage is not necessary, Though you  married in Punjab you can get Marriage certificate in Gujarat also.

Yes it is possible. With the following:

  1. You will need to provide a valid address proof of you or your spouses residence within BLR city limits.
  2. You will need to provide age proofs to prove that you both are majors
  3. You will also need to provide a valid certificate of marriage (not necessarily a registered certificate) from the place where you were married. It is usually a sheet which the person conducting the wedding provides with a signature/seal/registration number along with witnessess. Many instituted places of worship which are run by trusts have this facility.
  4. In the event of marriage certificate not available. You will need to provide a wedding invitation, photographs from your wedding and two passport photographs of your selves (this incase the webcam is not working).
  5. You will need two witnesses to sign, preferably atleast one witness who would have signed on the certificate in step 3.
  6. The rest is as simple as taking the application form and submitting the documents. ( if you have certificate from step 3, they might just endorse it with the registrar seal, scan the same and provide you a registration number, if not you have two marriage certificates :) )

Do no commit this mistake, or remarrying, just for the purpose of obtaining a marriage certificate issued by Gujarat Govt. Better, you apply for registration at the place where your marriage was solemnised, or at the place to which your wife belong, or lastly at the place/city to which you belong.

Even though you have not registered your marriage, it cannot be said that you have not married that woman, your marriage with your wife is legally valid.

You cannot remarry her without divorcing her.

You can apply for registration of marriage within the jurisdiction where your marriage was solemnised
