For lodging a complaint about missing documents in india, you have to file a complaint in india in the local police station where it has been lost. If you are the complainant, then you have to appear in person to file a complaint, or send a letter duly signed, notarized by UK notary public and embaassy authorities and send it to your trusted agent in india to file a complaint on your behalf.

See lodging FIR from UK will be possible only if the respective state in India has the online portal for.registration of FIR for example in banglore city you.can file an FIR online. So you need to search that for Kolkata. In my view kolkata(WB) still online registration has not yet started.

Now any person who is aggrieved or aware of offence can file FIR so your any relative still in India can get your work done.

Hi,

For obtaining the duplicate copies of the Deeds you need to file FIR that could be possible online as well and you need to publish a notice in the news paper being published in that local area relating to the lost documents.

After that you need to file an application with the registrar along with the publication and FIR to issue a certified duplicate copy.

You may hire an advocate for this as well.

Hello

No you can not lodge an FIR from UK though some of your relative can lodge an FIR, FIR is the First information report and need not necessarily be filed by the effected person.

You can send a detail complaint about the same notarised it in Indian Embassy and file here through post. You can request to the police that the said complaint may be considered as FIR in your case.

1. You can lodge police complaint by sending email from UK to the police station having jurisdiction on the area where you think that you have lost your said deed.

2. You shall have to mention an area where halted for some time holding your said deed and thereafter you have detected that the file containing the deed is missing. Such statement is so required to ascertain the jurisdiction of the Police Station to record the incidence of loss.

3. You should then publish a newspaper notification in two Newspapers, one being in vernacular, informing the public about the said loss.

4. Thereafter you can avail certified copy of the said deed.

5. All the above steps are required for ensuring that you can sell your said property or deal with it based on the certified copy of the deed.

1) for documents lost FIR is not raised, you have to raise complaint.

2) You need not visit a police station in the city to file a lost complaint anymore. If you have lost any item, you just need to visit the city police website (www.bcp.gov.in) and click on the lost report option. Enter details of the lost object and other particulars. You can collect an acknowledgement (form 76A), which may have to be produced before the authorities concerned in case you need a duplicate of a lost document or to claim insurance.

1. File a FIR immediately in the jurisdictional police station. In very few states the FIR can be lodged online, so this you need to check online.

2. Obtain the certified copies of the lost documents from the office of sub-registrar.
