Hello,
Since you have received the notification through official source, if you remain silent even after receiving the same, then you will be considered as not obeying the orders, hence you may better inform the District election officer and submit a representation expressing your inability for the reasons you have stated here and claim exemption
- You can send an application before the election commission of your area after stating the true facts of your exam and transferred to another place.
- Further, as this letter is directly not received by you , then you are not accountable tor the said duty , on the ground of non-receiving of the letter .
You can certainly get release from election as you have valid reason. Submit an application to State Election Commission with all documentary proof seeking exemption from election duty. You need submit such an application well in advance, commission keeps reserves for such emergencies.

Transfers and election duty: If you have been transferred to a new branch, it is generally expected that your election duty responsibilities would be transferred to your new location as well. However, the specific rules regarding transfers and election duty can vary, and it is important to review any applicable laws or guidelines.
Receiving election duty letter: If the election duty letter was received by the previous branch on your behalf and then forwarded to your current branch, it is advisable to communicate with your present branch and HR department to clarify the situation. They may guide you on the appropriate steps to take and provide information on whether you are required to attend election duty.
Cancellation of election duty: If you have a legitimate reason, such as a scheduled exam, you may be able to request the cancellation of your election duty. However, the process and requirements for cancellation may vary depending on the jurisdiction and the specific circumstances. It is best to consult with the election authorities or your employer's HR department to understand the procedure and provide any necessary supporting documentation.
