Under the Hindu Marriage Act, marriages can be registered in India by the Registrar of Marriages or any other officer appointed by the state government under Section 8 of the Act. They can apply for a marriage registration from the Indian consulate or embassy in Hong Kong. This will enable them to prove the validity of their marriage in India.

1.    The said marriage registered in Hong Kong will not be valid in India unless they marry before the Indian Consulate at Hong Kong under Foreign Marriage Act.
