• Individual family tree or one family tree

We are trying to sell the home built by our father. There was no will. We are 4 children. Two of them predeceased our parents. They have 3 and 2 children respectively. So, now there are 8 Stake holders.
I am getting conflicting information regarding family tree.
Some realtors say each one of us should get individual family tree from Nadakacheri, Gov, of Karnataka.
Some realtors say it should be one family tree showing all 4 children families from our father and mother.
Please let me know which one is correct.
Thanks.

It should be one family tree starting from your parents, your siblings' families ( irrespective of whether they are alive or not ) ,  grand children to your parents, great grandchildren (if any).

There should be one family tree showing branches A,B,C & D. The deceased sibling of three children will have further three branches and another deceased sibling will have further two branches. One such family tree is sufficient for each of legal heir.

Since this family tree affidavit is required to succeed to the estates left behind by the deceased, all the shareholders are to be brought into one single family tree certificate.

There should be a family tree of your deceased father including your mother (if she is alive) and the two surviving children. In respect of the families of the predeceased siblings of yours, each family tree should be separately mentioned.

Dear Client,

It will be one family tree having four children from your father and mother. It will be divided equally between four and then the particular person's share can be divided further among their children.

Thank You

- As per law, after the demise of father intestate , his property would be devolved upon all the legal heirs equally , and anyone can apply for getting the family tree  after submitting the death certificate of father , and details of all other legal heirs.

- Further during the life time of 4 legal heirs of father , no certificate or approval required from their family members.

- Hence, the legal heirs certificate of father is only required .
