Complaint if the child is adopted under Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, 1956, you can submit the proof of adoption and apply for passport you as parents of child. If no such procedure is followed you need to register your self and child for relative adoption under Central Adoption Authority Agency, Government of India and after that apply to the district Court for approval of adoption. That whole process will take four months if properly followed. It is better to complete the procedure as earliest as the maximum against for adoption is 18 years.

And after getting certificate from court later on you can apply on your name adopted son passport.

Hello,

  1. If you have adopted your nephew through a registered deed of adoption, you can apply for a name change in the passport for the adopted son.
  2. You need to make affidavits on his behalf about the name change after adoption and make publication of the same in the newspaper.
  3. Apply to the passport office with all the documentary ts including existing passport and the deed of adoption.

If he has been legally adopted then on the basis of the registered adoption deed, you may have to submit an application to the registrar of births and deaths for carrying out change of name of the child in the birth register from the old name to the proposed new name.

Obtain a fresh birth certificate and along with the copy of the adoption deed, you can apply for reissue of passport with the new name.

You need to first adopt him through a valid procedure of law through guardian and wards Act or juvenile justice Act. Also you can use Hindu adoption law for the same. Later you can do the other procedure related to passport

Dear Client,

The change of name in the passport of a minor son is permitted as per the provisions and judgments held under the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, 1956.

An application under Annexure C  has to be submitted at the Regional Passport Office by the adopted son, stating the required change in the name and other necessary requisites. Thereafter, the Regional Passport Office shall provide the details for such modification.

Thank you.
