• What should I do?

Recently there was a car blast near my hostel room at 3am night , not known exact timing.,
but someone had dropped the acidic solution to that car and that car burned immediately after sometime,
but by me and my room mate, we immediately called the fire brigade truck because of no near by cars get burned due to that burned car blast, so fire brigade truck cames and resolve that blast, after some time car owner comes and lodged complaint of his burned car,

after two days , police cames for invistigation and they called some respected persons of that colony, and police had taken name, correspondent address, and permenant address and phone number of me and my room mate, but then I asked to police that *sir I am preparing for upsc cse, then it will affect in my future? then police told me no, it will not affect in your future, dont worry* but still I am in confusion that whether it was fir against us or it was witnessed by us,

allready 20 days are completed from that incident, but still we didnt get any call from police

plz suggest .,what should I do?

it was witness by us or fir against us?

It witnesses take for that incident and not FIR.

If it were FIR ... Till this time you and your friend could be behind bars or in the court proceedings.

So don't worry for this incident.

There is no FIR filed against you

2) you are  only being called for investigations

3) you are not an accused of any offence

- When a police official lodged an FIR ,whether on the complaint of any complainant or himself , then it is the duty of that official to informed the accused for the same.

- Since the owner of the car lodged complaint for his burned car , then for further investigation /enquiry of the said complaint, the police came and taken the details of you both, It means that you both are not an accused in the said complaint , but have information of the incident.

- Dont, worry , it will not affect your future .

Most probably police have taken your information as witness of the incident because you both have called fire brigade.

You dont have to worry about the FIR against you.

1. The FIR must have been lodged against unidentified people. You could not have been the accused person.

2. If you did not get any call from police then it shows police does not need to know anything from you. So don't worry.

You have nothing to do.

Police recorded your name address for witness purposes only.

If call by police you should attend and co-operate the investigation. It is your legal duty.

No FIR against you. No need to worry.

It will not affect your carrier.

If you help police in investigation it would be a plus point for you.

1. There cannot be any FIR against you, since you will be deemed to be the complainant based on your calls to the Fire & Police dept.,

2. You become Witnesses, in case there is a court case and you will be asked to give your witness statement in court.

Hi

Since police have not called you for a period of 20 days after the incident, definitely, Police is looking at you as a WITNESS and that you are not an accused in the case(i.e FIR is NOT against you)

So , in all probability, police may array you as a Witness only.

So , continue to proceed with your preparation for UPSC exam .

In case police call you to record your statement as a witness, you may choose to record your statement as witness.

Also, being arrayed as a witness in the case will not affect your UPSC career prospects

Hope this information is useful.

Are you involved in the incident, or whether you are responsible for this mishap, if not then what is your worry about it.

You had given a complaint to the fire service  to douse the fire hence you are to be appreciated for the service you have done to the mankind.

The police will note down the names of the neighboring people to implead them as prosecution witness.

You will not get nay call now, the police will investigate the case at a later stage and they may include yor statement at that time, hence you need not be worried about any other program   like UPSC exams etc.
