1. Yes, if the said certificate is showing your date of birth.

2. People who had come to India from Bangladesh through different entry points during the 1960s were given migration certificates.

- For NRC process, this certificate is valid documentary proof of their stay in India.

- But NRC process requires this certificate to be verified by the state through which the person entered India.
- Hence, you should verified this certificate from the Bengal government .

Migration certificate is to be verified by the state through which person entered India

Dear Sir

Under citizenship laws, a person is an Indian by birth if born in India on or after January 26, 1950, but before July 1, 1987, so in that case only your birth certificate should suffice as Indian Citizenship proof.
If a person is born after July 1987, he or she can claim citizenship if either of the parent is a citizen of India. So in this case, own birth certificate along with one your parents birth certificate may suffice as Indian Citizenship proof.
For all born in India on or after December 3, 2004, they can claim  citizenship by birth only if both parents are Indians, or if at least one of the parents is a Indian citizen and the other is not an illegal immigrant at the time of birth in India. So along with one's birth certificate, both parents citizenship proofs would be required which shall be again subjected to above conditions.
Documents such as Vote Id Card and Passport may be considered citizenship proof with the birth certificate as per above mentioned cases.
A Driving License is no valid proof of citizenship, hell it's not even  considered as valid address proof in many cases. It's mostly treated as  identity proof of one's.
Contrary to popular belief AADHAR Card is also not a proof of Indian Citizenship.
Caste certificate in some cases is being considered as Citizenship proof, but not everyone have one so it's also not universal.
So your best bet may be birth certificate or passport. Although none of both can fully establish of you being Indian Citizen.

People who had come to India from Bangladesh through different entry points during the 1960s were given migration certificates.

After verification of certificate if found true shall be include in NRC but it is not a citizenship certificate.

1. I think your son has spoken to me today in this regard whom I have explained the matter.

2. NOC policy has been introduced all over India to identify the Indians and the infiltrators.

3. If you bare a Hindu by religion, then you shall be treated as asylum seeker and not infiltrator.

4. With your school level certificates and the migration certificate, you can very well establish that you had migrated to India in the year 1965 to make you eligible for getting recorded in NRC.
