Non registration does not affect validity of marriage

2) you ha e not mentioned reasons why your application for registration of marriage has been rejected

3) registration can be done where marriage has been solemnised

As of now you have all the options.  The special status of j & k is no more. You can register it in jammu or in any state.

Dear

The rejection of marriage certificate from Jammu might be due to Article 370.

Now after the section 370 has been scrapped you can get the registration done in jammu.

Now Hindu marriage act extends to J & K after abolition of article 370. Again approach municipal office still not registered than get direction from HC.

Certificate cannot be denied.

Now you can register the marriage in Jammu itself after the government decided to repeal the special status accorded to that state under article 370 of the constitution.

You may wait for few more days for the effect to take place in the state  as per law after that you can plan to initiate legal action if necessary.

You can apply at office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate in whose jurisdiction the husband or wife resides on any working day.

  1. As per the information mentioned in the present query, makes it clear that your marriage was solemnised in Jammu and you have been denied for its registration there.
  2. And yes, you can’t get it registered in Agra as per law.
  3. I would advice you to mark an application to the registrar’s office there in Jammu for knowing the reason of denial and then proceed.
  4. If already have it then forward the same to me, so that can guide you more precisely as you can’t be denied.
