• Work place harassment in government office

Sir.. I have been mentally harassed in office by secretary kas officer frequently. Taking away my keys files and giving charge to other person without my knowledge. Everyday harassing giving same work. And now not letting me do my work. Coming to my work place and harassing with harsh words and shouting. Being a lady she harassing other ladies staff. Behaving like saddist.. Calling to office on Saturday and Sunday. Telling to stay in office after 5.30. Office hours. Delaying my files without signing and returning without reason. Same objections and returning files. What to do? Can I complain to Human Rights commission?

Hello,

this is not the case of human rights commission. You may make a complaint to the higher authorities in this case and if they do not take any action then you may approach the HRC. Make sure that before lodging the complaint you have enough evidence in hand to prove her harassment.

If your lady superior is harassing other ladies all the junior staff should jointly complain against her to management

2) mention that forced to work on weekends

3) she subjects staff to harassment and abuses them daily

Hi,

You are suggested to file official complaint to Senior management disclosing each and every fact. The departmental enquiry will reveal all the facts and truth.

Just scold her back, matter will solve for once for all. As much you will tolerate her and respond, she will do more. IF ask you for over time and work on day off, tell her to give official mail and payment for over time. Legal demand.

You can make complaints to head of department or head of ministry under which ministry your department comes.

Plus write one letter to chief minister if you are state government employees other for central government can send letter in PMO office.

You can make a representation to the top management of the office with a detailed complaint chronological date wise events properly described.

If there is no response from the top management then you can plan to initiate proper legal action as per law including the options of approaching the human rights state commission with a complaint.

Your statement itself would be an evidence while making a written representation to the top management about it.

However you may gather evidence from next time without her knowing about it and use it when it is required.
