In case of any correction(s) required in the PPO, please contact your Head of Office/Pension Disbursing Agency for necessary action in this regard

if they refuse you would need court orders to correct spelling mistake in your name

This is a very common and negligible problem which is not of much concern.

However for the sake of avoiding future complications out of this I would suggest you to make an affidavit sworn in before the First Class Magistrate mentioning that both the surname belong to the same person.

Once you do this your problem would be solved.

All the best.

Sir you can get the pension payable order rectified it won't take too long if you are going to change all other documents it will take longer.

You can seek an rectification in pension order as per you service record department shall rectify it.

Further you can also make an affidavit regarding the both the name belonging to same person and can sign same before the magistrate but it would be better and advisable to get correction in order.

Hello,

Get a same name affidavit, declaring thereupon that Tiwari and Tewari are the name of the same person and as such the pensionary benefits be released accordingly.

Dear Sir,

When you change your name, please submit "Notification of Change in Name" by filling in the notification form, along with the pension certificate and a copy of an abstract of your family register or your full family register (issued by the mayor of village, town or city where you have resided within the last six months). Please make sure the name of the holder of the account of the recipient financial institution is changed as well. If the name which the Pension Fund Association is informed of and the name of the account holder are different, we cannot transfer pension benefits to the designated account.
When you change your name, please make sure that the changed name which the Pension Fund Association is notified of and the name of the account holder of the recipient financial institution are identical.

  1. As per the information mentioned in the present query, makes it clear that you have to get your surname changed, otherwise would be difficult for you to get pensionary benefits.
  2. Sir, let me tell you that there may be two options for you, first is to change the surname spelling in all other documents which would not be difficult, but changing the same in educational documents would be impossible, still if you wish then you will have to draft an affidavit stating for changing your surname spelling and get it published in one local as well as in one national newspaper.
  3. Secondly, to avoid all these you can directly request the department to do the same in your department as this is just a spelling mistake not change of your identity in the army.
  4. Rest, you will have to think on it then revert back sir, so that would guide you in detail about either of the option.

The change in the name would not deprive your pension benefits, your worries are unnecessary.

Actually you were required to fill up all the forms regarding your pension and other benefits before leaving the service, did you not notice it and make an amendment to that officially?

Even now you can file an application  seeking to amend the particulars by attaching documentary evidence to establish the desired amendment in the surname, it will be done immediately but it may have to be sent to CDA pensions for carrying out necessary ratification which may delay your pension to some time.

Dont go for affidavit because it may not be proper for the pension purposes.
