Your candidate would not be rejected as it is minor mistake on your part which you have rectified later

If you have done the mistake while filling the application form of the UPSC exam then you must have to contact UPSC headquarters or you can ask about your problem online.
This can make difficulty in front of you in further procedures but in my view minor mistake would not be rejected.

So you will have to correct these mistake by the time.

1. This is typing error or inadvertent mistake which will be ignored by the panel for sure.

2. Only the information which is untrue or false made to mislead the employer is damaging for the candidate.

3. This mistake arose out of human error which does not touch the integrity of the candidate.

So you can rest assured as nothing adverse will happen.

Though you ought to disclose the correct permanent address though based on address your candidature wont be cancelled in case they take any step you can approach high court through writ and can seek relief.

Most likely they are not going to create trouble as in detailed form you have given the address correct and there is no advantage based on address to you so you can pray relief from high court.

Such mistakes are committed because applicants do not apply their mind while filling up the form, Be that as it may, as you have already rectified the error in the DAF your candidature cannot be rejected on this ground. If it gets rejected then you will have the remedy of filing a writ petition in the High Court as it was even otherwise not a suppression of a material fact.

Hi,

You have not mentioned what was the reason for doing that mistake of address. If it was for getting some reservation, concession etc, then you may face some problem. Otherwise go boldly and face the interview or document verification.

The address cannot be an issue to reject your application if you are otherwise qualified.

You will be getting an intimation to attend the interview to the given address, you can file the corrected address at that time also,.

If there is any problem in this regard, then you may take an audience with the top authority about this and try to explain the situation under which this omission was done and to forgive you for this over sighted mistake.
