• Can I declare the purpose of my visit of marrying in USA if I am travelling on a tourist visa?

My Fiance is currently working in the US on H1B Visa and is unable to travel back for the wedding as per 'Indian Muhurat', so we are getting married in USA itself. I will be travelling on a Tourist visa with a return ticket to show that I will be coming back to India (before 6 months) to change my visa status to H4 dependent.
1. If I declare at the immigration counter (only if asked) the purpose of my visit is to meet my fiance and get married, will there be any problem for me to enter?
2. Will I have any issues with getting H4 visa status in India after I get back?

1. You should just mention that you are going to meet your fiance. They may deny the visa if you disclose that you are going to marry while your visit on the tourist visa.

2. Once you come back and apply for H4 then there will be no issue.

1. See you can disclose your purpose as travel only though you can marry after some time come back and they apply for dependent visa.

2  See if marriage is registered in US then based on same you can see visa.

H1-B Visa holders are allowed to marry tourist visa holders. Considering both the visitors are in the US on a non-immigrant visa, the marriage will be valid.

1. It is not advisable to declare this at the immigration as you run the risk of being disallowed to board the flight. US immigration is most skeptical on such things.

2. You may not face hassles after getting married in US.

3. Register your marriage under Foreign Marriage Act before Indian Consulate.

1. No, this no ground to restrict your entry into the territory.

2. No, there would be no problem in getting such visa.

the current climate in the USA is not conducive to immigrants and hence you should not declare this at the immigration. They might stop you. You go there and marry her and afterwards declare the same. Once you are married they have to provide you with a Visa to visit your spouse.

1.  You can  declare that you are getting married to your US fiance. You can even apply for K1 visa. A K1 visa is a non immigrant visa that allows a U.S. citizen's fiancé to enter the United States for up to 90 days. After marriage to a U.S. citizen, a K1 visa holder can apply for a green card to become a permanent legal resident of the United States.

2.  If our marriage is solemnised in US and you have proofs for a valid marriage held in US you can apply for H4 visa. H4 Visa (Dependent Visa) A H4 visa is issued to dependent family members (spouse and children) of H1 visa holders who would like to accompany the H1Bvisa holder to the U.S. during their stay.
