The chassis number is required for a 'trace' when transferring to the next owner OR for re-registration. So you will need it when re-registering the vehicle for 5 years.
2) you can contact the dealer from whom you purchased the car
I own a Kinetic Marvel scooter, which I purchased in 1998 directly from the dealer and I am the first and the only owner. I got its registration renewed in 2013 for a period of five years. Even in 2013, none of the chassis numbers was visible, but I got the registration renewed. I am not sure whether it was due to the fact that I went through an agent. Now in 2018, I would like to get it renewed (without going through an agent) for another three years. My question is 1. Whether my registration will be renewed even though none of the chassis numbers are visible? 2. Is there any solution to get the registration renewed if the chassis numbers are not visible? 3. Since the manufacturer is also responsible for creating the chassis number such that it is retained for a longer time, can I ask him to provide a new chassis number based on by registration certificate?

Dear Client,
Don`t you have any old pencil print of chasis no. ? Better approach kinetic workshop, they will help in similar plate imprint ( engrossed).

Try having the rusted area cleaned off with some rust remover. May be that will clear the rusted area at least partially so the information can be read.
The chassis number was/is embossed in a sheet metal plate, under the floor pan, and the coastal weather had nearly destroyed the imprints.
1. Sir the chassis number are required for registration either go through the agent he will get you copy of same from the old record or approach the kinetic workshop they will clean and give you the imprint on the fresh paper.
I guess the chassis number will be mentioned on the RC book as well as insurance policy taken for the vehicle
Renewed registration has to be done under the same chassis number
It does not matter if chassis number is visible on your vehicle or not
The documents of your vehicle are enough to ascertain its chassis number
1. The registration of the vehicle can very well be renewed until the vehicle is banned for use anymore. The renewal can be done on the basis of the previous registration.
2. Since this is a old vehicle hence the registration will be done on the basis of the relevant document already held, dont worry about the illegible chassis number.
3. Dont do that mistake, nobody will entertain your request. The illegible chassis number is due to wear and tear hence the renewal will be done on the basis of the documents held by you
