• Bachelors cannot get their friends who are girls to their place

Two of my friends' who stay as bachelors' are not allowed to get their friends who are girls over? They have been facing alot of issues because whenever they have any girl coming over the security guard stops them and doesn't let them go upstairs even if it is in the middle of the afternoon/morning. If the security guard is asked for a valid reason they just deny by saying "you can't go because you are girls and bachelors' live there and we have been asked my the society to not let girls go". What is even more ridiculous is that the girls have been asked questions like "why are you wearing short clothes?" "Why are going to a guy's house in the middle of the night? to do what?"

These questions are highly insulting. What I want to know is that can my friends take any action against the guard or the society to stop this harassment? Is this even legal?

My friends have spoken to their landlord and the landlord doesn't have any issue.

Society cannot discriminate against bachelors

2) landlord ie flat owner can issue legal notice to society to direct security guards to permit tenant friends to visit them

3) merely because they are girls does not mean that society can refuse to permit them to enter the society

Respected sir...

You have to tell which type of place they are residing at this time because if they are residing at a place of rent then there are certain rules and regulations which are made by the secretary of the society and each and every person have to follow that you can not make complaint against that you have option available to change that place of rent ...Ut if you are owners of that place where you are residing then no one in this world had any right to stop any boy or girl to come to your place if anyone did this you can file a complaint against that particular person in your local police station then police will take it itself ...

You just have to wrote a simple complaint and forward it to local police station ...Rest will upto them ...

Thank you

Hi,

This might be done by society and the guard has been instructed to so by society members in order to avoid any untoward incident.

1) If society has bylaws like this than your friend can't do anything, but there is no such bylaws created by society than you can complaint against society in the registrar office that society is not running properly according to MCS Act, tell your landlord to make complaint.

There's no basis on which the society is restricting female guests in the present case.

Your bachelor friends are being discriminated and being meted out with biasness.

They should send a legal notice to the Society.

If the society doesn't mend it's way despite the notice, they can approach the court to seek Justice.

Next when any such incident takes place then ask those girls to lodge a complaint against these people for outraging the modesty of a women by insulting then and passing comments.

The society is not run by only one person.

Even if the land lard have no issue but the society at large may set rules for their residents and tenants and all have to abide by the rules set in the society.

If you are not happy the way they are treating your friends you may change the place or the way you want to live.

Society may not accept that and there is nothing wrong in that to protest for as the rules are for everyone in the society.

Hi, you should talk to the association as they are the one who make such rules ..the guard is following the order of the association and he cannot refuse in his own capacity ..

You can file the police compliant on the secretary and other society office bearers for the same. There is no law prohibiting girls to go to the flats like this at any hour. The said conduct of society is illegal and punishable.

This issue can be sorted out by the interference of your landlord talking to the society.

The society bye laws have to be visited on this aspect.

Being tenants in the flat you may have to adhere to the rules of the society and if at all you have any grievance in this regard you have to approach your landlord to sort it out instead of directly getting into the arena.

The security guards do not have any authority to ask the girls about their dressing sense, he cannot travel beyond what is told to him about his duty at gate.

1. There is no law which prohibits a girl to meet a bachelor at his place during middle of the night.

2. However, the Society has the authority to agree to follow a particular set of conduct by all its members including their tenants.

3.It will be prudent on your part not to go further with this issue since your approach tomthe police or court will be fruitless in an orthodox society like ours where the police or judge also will ask the same question as asked by the guards.

4., However, the guards have no authority to comment on the dresses of your female friends.
