• How to change surname and name in all documents?

Hello Sir/Mam

My Issue,
I want to go study abroad but my documents are messy. My father surname and name is bit different in his documents like pan/adhar/bill etc but my in my documents my surname is different then my father's plus his name is also different.

In my father's most documents he have something like below

(his name) xxxxbhai (grandfather name) xxxxbhai (surname) pppp

his pan card and old bank passbook have something like this

(his name) xxxxbhai (grandfather name) xxxxbhai (surname) pppp [kkkk] <== as you can seed two different surname.

While In my most documents

(my name) xxxx (my father name) xxxxjibhai (surname) kkkk <==as you can see completely different surname with slightly name change 'ji' in my father name.

but in my voter it is like below

(my name) xxxxbhai (my father name) xxxxbhai (surname) pppp <== surname is like my father have in his document but with slight change in my name 'bhai'

Because of this issues my file got canceled and I am frustrated. they said you need to change all your documents to match with your father surname and name too. I did affidavit but its not valid for visa process they said.

Now you might think why I have two surname documents because one is my main cast and other is my sub cast, like 'pppp' is my main cast and 'kkkk' is my sub cast I did explained that in affidavit but it is not valid. If there is a process to change it please let me know. Also, do I have to change in my all documents like mark sheets(very very long time ? ), Btech certs, school leaving cert, they said you do need to change adar, passport, pan, birth-cert etc those are id and address proof so I am confused. It will take more than 2 years to change all my documents. so what should I do?

Instead of changing my all docs If there is process to change just my father name and surname to match mine will it work? I don't know I am confused ?‍♂️ ? Please help. Please suggest easy, convenient and fast track process I have less time left for next intake in college. thanks.

Hello,

Maam I understand the thing that you are going through.

It will not be possible for you to get the name changed in the marksheet or school certificates. therefore, I would advise you to change your name to the name that is there is your educational certificates.

Things have to be managed well, in India we do not have any strict law/ procedure with regards to the same.

1) change of father name and surname would have prospective effect only

2) it there is mistake in your educational certificates you would need court orders to rectify same as school board , university would refuse to do it after so many years unless you obtain court orders

Change your father's name officially in the Gazette. First publish an ad in two local newspapers of Gujarat, one in Local Language and one in English Language. Then submit it in the Department for Name Change and change the name officially in the Gazette.

This is a better proof than Affidavit.

Firstly, you do an Affidavit in your district court w.r.t. change in name, etc.

Secondly, all the changes in name, etc. which you need to be changed shall be printed in two famous newspapers circulated in your state.

Thirdly, you must take all the changes in name, etc. to be printed in Government Gazette.

Finally, You submit this document printed in Gazette to all concerned wherein name, etc. are to be changed.

You cannot change the surname or any name in the document at this stage.

You can prepare an affidavit giving the names clearly and the name that you would be called

Get this name change published in a local newspaper and then submit the same to along with the affidavit to the government press for getting published in the gazette publication.

If I don't change my mark sheets and present just Government Gazette, Is it acceptable in visa process + college admission ?? Big Question for me.

Keep the copy of the government gazette publication align with the documents where your previous name appears.

This will take care of all issues.
