• Warranty car caught fire while driving

Hi.
I had purchased a car in 2016 January. It was Ford Figo Aspire Petrol and top variant.
On 20 September 2017, i was driving back to home, suddenly some smoke from bonnet i saw while driving. I stopped the car and then instantly it caught fire in the engine bay. I stepped out from car within time.

It was still in warranty and Ford motors denied to take responsibility of faulty vehicle provided to me and saying it was no defect.
My Life was in danger driving the faulty vehicle. I want justice.

Issue them a legal notice and then subsequently file a case in the consumer forum.

Also tell me that what was the cost of the vehicle?

Hello sir , first intimate the insurance company and ask for the insurance claim .. If they deny you the insurance, it is advisable to first serve them a legal notice through a lawyer asking for the compensation .. If they fail to comply you can approach consumer court and file a compensation case against the ford showroom and the insurance company

It often occur witht he motor vehicel comonaies and hence such actions msut be prptested with stern legal actions.

Send the seller a legal notice asking for replacement of car or the faulty engine itself. They Are not likely to do this.

In that event file a case beofre the consumer forum where you may get relief of replacement of car as well damages and compensation.

So meet an advocate and do the needful on that account.

Since it is within the warranty period, you may first issue a legal notice to the showroom owner and endorse a copy to the insurance company owner.

Then you may aproach consumer forum for remedy.
