1. If the document is genuine then no forgery or cheating is made out.

2. To use a true copy of the document, even though it may not have been obtained directly from the central government, does not constitute any offence.

As long this wasn't a classified or a confidential document, there's nothing to worry. If this document was capable of being obtained under the RTI Act, there's nothing that the Govt. can actually do against you.

If the document is a confidential one then you are not advised to produce it before the authorities in order to get your right. the department may ask you the source of document and might charge you with unauthorized possession of government document.

However, if the document is the public document and has been procured by some other person officially then you can use it anywhere without any hesitation or legal impediment.

You can not use the private document created by some body for the confidential use. Even if the document is genuine, but It amounts to forgery/cheating.
