Is attestation by Gazetted officers required for OBC certificate because this is not mentioned in the form. I belong to KUSHWAHA caste. Not having any OBC certificate issued to my father. But we were living in Delhi prior to 1993 and have all supporting documents to prove this like Govt. ID of my father, birth certificate issued in Delhi. What all documents needed to submit other than identity and residence proof? Any affidavit required?

2. If the certificate is issued by the competent authority then it is enough to make it authentic and there is absoltely no requirement for any other attestation.

Yes it is to be attested by a gazetted officer
1) you have to get an application form which you have to fill with complete details and personal information.
2) You need the certificate for birth or any school certificate which proofs your age.
3) You need 2 photos and one of them should be attested through any of central or state government gazetted officer. You must have to attach both of photos on the application form before going to submit it in department to get the obc caste certificate in Delhi.
4) After both of these you also need the address proof on which the Ration Card copy can be used. If you are not having the card then you also can use any other document to as the Proof of Residence on which the complete address should be mentioned like property tax receipt, house tax, electricity bill, phone bill etc.
5) If you are having the caste certificate of his / her father or brother then have to attach the copy of that because it will make easy the verification process and you can get your O.B.C. Certificate through the easy process.

What documents are required ?
• Application form completed in all respect.
• OBC certificate of father, brother, sister or of his/her blood relative from paternal side, if available.
• Voter-I-Card/Ration card – As proof of present residence.
• Affidavit in prescribed format.
• Attestation by Gazetted Officers, Member of Parliament, MLAs, Councilors declaring the caste of applicant and continuous stay in Delhi since 1993.
• Proof of residence in Delhi since 1993 (such as Electricity bill, water bill, telephone bill, house tax etc.)
• Pay slip of self or in case of unemployed pay slip of father/mother.
• Two photographs, one attested and one plain.
The OBC certificate itself is given by an authority hence there is no need for getting it attested, however if you would like to get a photo copy carried with yo then you may get it attested.

Attestation for a original document/certificate is not required, you are talking about the attestation for the affidavit by a notary public, check it.
