Is marriage certificate issued online valid for US L1 visa
Hi, Me and my wife got married on 27-Jun-2012 in Allahabad (UP) but we did not register our marriage at that time. We are residing in Bangalore since our marriage. A few days back I came to know that Uttar Pradesh government has started a process where we can register our marriage online using Aadhar based verification for both bride and groom. So I registered our marriage online on 9-Mar-2017 on below website: http://igrsup.gov.in/igrsup/defaultAction.action# Here is the process to register and a sample of how the marriage certificate looks like: https://maybeahelp.blogspot.in/2017/01/completely-online-marriage-registration.html Recently I got a job offer in US and the company is sponsoring a L1 VISA for me and a L2 VISA for my wife. Original marriage certificates are required as a proof of marriage. I have VISA interview in a month and I am unsure if printout of online marriage certificates are acceptable as a proof or not. As if they are not then I would need to re-register my marriage by visiting a sub-registrar office. If needed could I register my marriage in Bangalore itself? Also if I register in Bangalore what will be the place of marriage that they will put? Will it be Bangalore (Karnataka) or the true location i.e. Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh)? If both of you are Hindu and having any Identity and address proof of Bangalore then you can register your marriage before Sub registrar at Bangalore and can get the certificate within 7 day or same day.

Registration of marriage is possible either
a) at the place where the marriage was solemnized or
b) at the place where the married couple are residing.
The marriage certificate issued by Uttar pradesh online is valid for the Purpose of Visa application.
In the event of you choosing to register the marriage at Bangalore , you can attach your wedding invite card, your marriage photographs and mention that your marriage took place in Allahabad. The sub-registrar in karnataka WILL accept these proof and issue the marriage registration certificate based on place of residence of married couple.

2.Since they have their own mechanism to determine the validity o genuineness of a document if the same is valid you can rely upon it.
3. A online registration since is valid in UP I find no reason why the same would be rejected in Visa interview.
1. You should inquire from the Embassy of US as to whether the print out of the marriage certificate will be accepted by them or not. In any event, to alleviate any hardships it is advisable to obtain a certified copy of the marriage certificate from the marriage registrar's office,
2. Marriage already registered cannot be re-registered, but you can always obtain a certified copy of the marriage registration certificate.
Firstly you cannot register the marriage anywhere other than the territorial jurisdiction within which the marriage is solemnised.
Once you have registered the marriage there is no need to re-register the same.
If the authorities do not accept the online marriage certificate, you may apply for marriage extract certified by the concerned marriage registrar's office to submit an authenticated document for the purpose.
Do not do the mistake of registering the marriage once again in Bangalore and getting a certificate from that place through any source somehow, if on verification, it is found that this is a managed certificate, your entire purpose will be defeated and even your employment may be at stake.
