Do i have a case against amazon india?

I have been a regular shopper on Amazon India. However, something went very wrong recently. I had bought a computer hard drive (internal) which Amazon seller sent in a thin cardboard paper wrap without any shock protection material inside. It was very likely that the hard drive was damaged as people who handle things during transit cannot be expected to be careful in handling them. I contacted Amazon Customer Care through online chat (it helps me keep a record of everything they say and assure) and Amazon assured they would send another hard drive in the original manufacturer's box packaged correctly. So I returned the first hard drive and waited for the second one. The second one arrived only in a worse looking package. I contacted Amazon and demanded a full refund for the purchase saying I will return the second one too. They agreed. I sent the second one back too. However, after a few days both the hard drives came back to me with the courier services people telling me that the receiver (Amazon Seller Services at Gurgaon, Haryana) had refused to accept the packages and they even said that it was their painful experience that Amazon never accepted return packages. I have gone through a great deal of inconvenience with all this so far. I do not want to pursue the matter with Amazon Customer Care anymore. I want to teach them a lesson if I can. I want to file a case against them on the grounds of false assurances on their part. Do I have a case?
