Facing harassment and threats from villagers over land ownership

Background: Twenty years ago, my father was awarded a patta for a 2.5-acre land in his ancestral village, a property under our family's control for over two centuries. However, a property dispute arose when my uncle illicitly obtained ownership by bribing the retiring tehsildar, leading to a wrongful transfer of the patta without any notice to us. Our family was not notified of this alteration. Following a three-year investigation, the land was rightfully returned to us with a new patta. To secure the property, we erected a barbed wire fence and planted trees. Current Situation: Presently, the surrounding area has undergone significant development, prompting opportunistic individuals to covet any available land. My uncle, who has declared animosity towards my father, is orchestrating efforts to manipulate villagers and local authorities, including the gram panchayat, to seize the land. He and his associates, leveraging political connections, aim to invalidate our patta by filing complaints with the district collector and other governmental offices, while exerting political pressure. In response to these threats, we commenced construction of a small house on the land three days ago. Incident today: Today, my uncle, accompanied by village leaders and allies, disrupted construction, intimidating our laborers by falsely asserting that the land belongs to the government. They threatened to report the construction to the tehsildar and collector, coercing the laborers to halt work. Upon my father's arrival, a hostile crowd gathered, hurling insults and attempting to intimidate him. Despite this, my father remained composed, asserting his legal right to construct on his own land and insisting that work would continue until a written order from the tehsildar mandated otherwise. Subsequently, the crowd proceeded to the tehsildar's office to petition for an injunction against construction. Additionally, individuals took photographs of the property, intending to publish them in local newspapers to defame us as land encroachers, while signatures were gathered for a letter urging the collector to annul our patta. Query and Legal Recourse: In light of this harassment, we seek guidance on legal strategies to protect our property rights. Specifically, we inquire about the potential for the collector or tehsildar to revoke our patta, issued just a year ago. Furthermore, we question the feasibility of contesting their decision in court and prevailing against the orchestrated campaign by our adversaries
