Not serving notice period due to fear of future side effects

Hello sir / ma'am, I'm a 2023 passed out guy. I working in Formulation development department in startup pharma company from jun 2023. I got continuous heavy fever for almost 20 days with no proper reason in December to jan. After that, some colleagues told that it may be due to side effects of the drug (medical term of medicine ingredient- API) which I handed from june (from company joining). In February, one day, I experienced a left side chest pain along with shoulder. Recently, I again experienced that and got check up in hospital. Doctor said My heart beat is slow (bradycardia) and check up for some test : troponin ( to check whether he experienced heart attack), lipid profile but the test results are normal. I went to hometown and checked up there and done echo test. That results are normal. But, my parents having fear on my future and I also read a article in NCBI on the drug which I handled. That mentioned the over dose effect of the drug which include heart block with bradycardia. It makes me fear also. I called my department head and informed. I ask HOD to switch my department or allow to relieve. He didn't allow me to switch department. And also asked him to allot the work without any exposure to drug during notice period. I said that if you give the assurance, I am ok to serve notice period. He didn't give assurance. So i asked him to relieve me without notice period. Due to the my family economy and health issues which occurred after I joined the company, I asked him to facilitate me to relieve without paying any compensation amount. He didn't ok with that and ask me to serve the notice period. What I was done is correct or not? Based on my situation, law is on which side ? Me or my company? I need your reply, ladies and gentlemen.
