My mother's rights after 34 years of marriage

I need help to understand the legal rights of a married woman in India. My mother has been married for 34 years and the husband is an alcoholic. They have 2 children, daughter(single and 31years) and son(single and 28years). The husband's alcoholism and physical and verbal abuse caused the son to leave the house 3 years ago. My mother and i continued to live in the house. On multiple occasions we were beaten and neighbors and family had to intervene, which caused us to stay back in the house. The last time there was an issue, the husband decided to quit drinking to avoid problems. But the drinking has started again after a year and the only cjoice my mother and i Have is to leave the house to remain safe. The husband owns 2 properties registered in his name, but was bought through a joint loan taken by both husband and wife. What are the legal rights of the wife who is now a senior citizen over the properties? The wife wishes to move out of the current house and live with her children, how can she secure one of the properties so that she has some financial backing. The husband has also brought upon himself a lot of debt in the last 5 years. He took out loans and credit for people who havent paid him back. Owing to these financial problems he will not hesitate to sell his properties if my mother and I leave the house as well. But we have no choice but to leave. Can someone please recommend how we can take action to protect ourselves and my mother's financial stability.
