Maintenance charges already paid to the builder being charged by society

Hello, When i had purchased the flat in Thane west in 2021, i had paid 12months of maintenance charges to the builder from April 2021 until March 2022. The society was then handed over from builder and now the society is asking me to pay the maintenance charges again for March 2022. There are some disputes related to this topic between the builder and society-secretary/treasurer but these people are asking me to pay maintenance charges again. They are asking me to pay and then builder will issue a credit for which there is no ETA. There is no letter issued nor any signatures have been taken by the society from the residents that they agree to pay again, everything is verbal. When we as an individual buyer went to the builder, the builder asked us to just submit a letter to him , which we did, stating we have already paid the maintenance and agreed that we need not pay again for the month of March to the society again since we have already paid. He does have records of our payment as well. What can be done in order to safeguard this? Can we report this in any way? Do we need to pay to society even though we have already paid to the builder? What should be our actions? Thank you in advance!
