IPC section 279 and section 184

I was travelling from Lamington Road, Mumbai to my home in Thane using Google maps as I am not familiar with the roads in Mumbai on my motorcycle (Bajaj Avenger cruise). It guided me on the Eastern Freeway where motorcycles are not allowed. Now, I already knew that motorcycles are not allowed on Freeway. But I don't know where is freeway and how it looks. When I realized that its freeway, I started looking for the first exit and kept riding on the left hand side of road. But, to my dismay when I found the first exit, the RTO cops caught me and took my keys and asked me to show my driving license. In the meanwhile, I witnessed about 5 motorcycle riders who dodged the policemen and the policemen even failed to note their number plates. But, when they found that my papers were clear they told me that their machine does not have charge, hence I need to go to the RTO station below the bridge to pay the fine. In the RTO police station they were still not ready to take the fine and after passing some time they took me and two other motorcycle riders whom they caught on the freeway bridge to the nearest police station. Throughout the course of action they were telling me and others that we will have to pay the fine and for that they are taking us to their senior officer (3 star). At the police station the policeman (2 star) asked the RTO policemen what is the problem to which they told him about what happened. To which the policemen said that take the fine and let them go. But none of them exactly knew the law under which they would charge us the fine. So they started looking for it and after some time one of them returned and told the policeman that there are no such laws under which they can fine us so hearing this the policeman (2 star) asked the others to book us under 279 and to lock us up. They asked us to call our family or friends who can come to the police station and bail us out and they kept the keys and our motorcycles with them. Without hearing our plead the policeman raised FIR against us and gave us a copy of Form 41 (A -1). Then told us to visit the court and file an application to release our motorcycles. At the court, the Police kaarkoon told me to ask the lawyer who was standing there about the application procedure. To which he told me that he will file an application and then once the Judge signs it then I can take it to the Police station to get my motorcycle back. But when I asked the lawyer that will the case would be closed after this, to which he said that no it will not. After few months the court will appoint a hearing again and then when the judge will ask me if I committed the crime, and if I say 'Yes' then I would be imprisoned for upto 6 months. But if I say 'No' then the court will aske me to pay a fine of Rs. 1000 approx. and let me go. Now, first of all the case was raised wrongly at the police station and secondly the lawyer says above. Please help me in this regard.
