Need help with regards to Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Section 188 IPC

Hi, My wife (age 33 years) works in a government aided school in Thane (W) and she has received a call / letter for doing COVID-19 related duties for at least 25 days. With the nature of the disease which can be spread easily, she does not want to do the duty as we have a 1.9 years old infant kid and 2 elders aged 74years and 88 years along with my mother who is 55 years old. Both the elders are heart patients and are ailing through several disease like diabetes, blood pressure, urine problem etc. Me and my wife both fear that if she does this duty and returns home, the infant child and the elders would be highly suspected to get the disease, which we don’t want to, as maintaining social distancing post COVID-19 duties is impossible as the child will come near to the mother and she has to go ailing elders to take care of them. Also, at this point no maid / caretaker / Nany will be available. As her letter states that she has been called up for the duty as per Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and going through the act, I learned that not performing the duties will lead to Section 188 IPC against her i.e. simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, or with both. In such scenario, if she still chooses not to perform her duties, what are her options to avoid Section 188 IPC against her. Please guide us through it, also let me know if I am right with all the details mentioned above.
