Whether or not we would get a share?

This is a Hindu Undivided Property. My dad's great grandfather owned it. He had three sons. My grandfather + 2 other sons. The great grandfather died and he had wrote the entire property in the name of his three sons. All the three shares were being enjoyed peacefully until now. The elder grandfather died in the year 1998 leaving his share to his widow. He died issueless. His share of the property was being enjoyed by his widow. My grandfather died in the year 2007. Problem arises thereafter, when the mid grandfather tries to acquire the portion of the elder grandfather. However he could not do much as the widow was still alive. However in 2014, the widow of the elder grandfather dies, intestate. Question is whether NOW his share would go to his brother who is alive (mid grandfather) solely or my grandmother and my father would also get it DESPITE the death of my grandfather. POINT OF CONFLICT is, my grandfather died before the widow of the elder grandfather (whose share is in question). one SC ruling says succession opens on the death of the widow. So abiding by that is there no chance that we can get that share? the district court has dismissed our case and has asked to report to HC. Is there any positive scope for us if we appeal?
