Terminated from job due to unauthorised absence

Sir/Madam, My name is Anil. I was working with a company for more then 2 years. In May 2018 i fell ill and because of that i couldn't attend my office. My illness was such that the cause of illness didn't get diagnosed so the doctors had started an empiric treatment. This process took for more then 3 months and during that period i was admitted twice in the hospital. I did informed my office through an email twice about the reason of my absence but they didn't considered it, instead sent me a summon to join the office within one week. As I received the letter after the due date so i took an appointment with my reporting officer for the next day but neither he was present in the office nor the HR Manager. I came back and wrote an email to both stating that i am still recovering from illness so kindly give me some more time to join the office. There was no response from their side and after few days i was handed over the termination letter. I was not a permanent employee there, hence, i would like to know if any legal action can be taken in such a case. I had spent more then 3 lakh rupees over my treatment without any financial help from my office, In fact, they had stopped my salary after 1st month of my absence despite knowing the reason of my absence. Such insensitive behavior from an organisation wherein i had put my best efforts is unacceptable to me, therefore, i request everyone for help. Thank you
