Looking for guidance on a false 498A FIR filed by sister in law in India

My brother is in India and his wife has filed 498A FIR against him, my parents, me and my sister. 1. I am a USA citizen and have been living here for last 15 years. 2. My sister is also a USA citizen and has been living here for last 19 years. 3. My parents are USA permeant residents and they have been with me for major part of last 5 years. My sister-in-law has accused us in the FIR based on a false incident she claims happened 15 years ago. My brother has already got the anticipatory bail. But I am wondering about how to handle this for us 4 who are in the USA. We are thinking to file for quashing of the FIR under 482. But the police is saying us 4 will need to come to India at least once so that they can record our statements. Without us going there in person they say they can not create the charge sheet. Can you please let me know 1. Do I need to go to India and appear before the police to provide my statement? 2. Can they not record our statement over phone? 3. What happens if we decide not to go to India at all? 4. What are the steps to file for quashing the FIR? We have created an application for 482. But do we need to get that endorsed from the US embassy?
