How to deal with a loan recovery agent

I had taken a loan of 1.25 lacs in the year 2016 and had paying my EMIs regularly for the 1st year till the end of 2017 but because of financial crisis i have not been able to pay my EMIs for the last 6 months. I had sent a couple of mails to the bank requesting them that i would like to go in for a foreclosure or a settlement. And then recovery agents used to call me demanding for huge amounts of money so i used to get scared and back off. But now again i have sent a couple of emails to the bank requesting them to guide me to a reliable person who can help me to close this account. An agency manager from the collection department got in touch with me and asked me to go in for a foreclosure which could be paid in 3 installments. He was asking me to pay 50K initially and i requested him to allow me some time to decide since this was a big amount. He again called me after a couple of days and started demanding me to pay 50k or 1 lac because it was his month end. I told him that i dont have that kind of money now. He started threatening me that he would come to my house and create a scene. I pleaded with him over the phone to give me some time but he kept on humiliating me. I immediately sent an email to the bank saying that i wanted some time to make a proper decision whether i should go in for a foreclosure or a settlement. They permitted me that time but the recovery manager did not accept that. i again sent another email to the bank that i would like to go in for a settlement where i can pay in 3 easy installments. I am now awaiting their response but i am still scared of that recovery manager that he might come to my house and humiliate me in front of my neigbours as i stay all alone. Its becoming difficult to live peacefully in my own house thinking that he can show up anytime at my doorstep. Please advise what do i do.
