Salary cheque stopped by the drawee in absence of 2 working days.

Hi all, I am an Immigration Advisor in a US legal firm. I was given salary cheque on 07/05/2018 and was deposited in my account on 08/05/2018 by one of my friend as I had to leave for Mumbai for some family emergency on 7th evening and I could not inform to my employer regarding the same as I lost my phone while traveling. As soon as I reached back to Hyderabad on 08/05/2018 I called in the evening and informed the reason of my absence and on the same day the salary cheque was stopped by the employer. seeing this I decided not to render my service furthermore to the company. On 10/05/2018 I went to the office and tried to talk with my employer but he did not turn up and gave me a notice having subject: Your sudden disappearance from the services and non compliance of Employment Agreement. He also mentioned the wrong date in the notice i.e. 5th of may but my last official appearance was on 7th of may and I informed on 9th evening about my reason for absence. He has also mentioned that the absence caused him 360000 loss which is all a big lie. So the crux is my salary cheque was stopped by the drawee in absence of 2 working days. served me with a notice that due my absence he suffered a loss of 360000. Kindly advice.
