How to respond against writ petition regarding selection by state public service commission

Sir, We, group of 34 candidates, got selected in a direct recruitment by APSC for dept of Industry & Commerce, govt of Assam. The selection process is consist of written+viva+academic records with different weightage for each of them. Petitioners files the petition on the ground that the written marks which was a screening test conducted to minimise the number of applicants should not considered for preparation of final merit list. In the advertisement, it is said that, if the number of applicant is large, the commission may shortlist the candidates based on the marks obtained in qualifying degree OR by conducting a screening test. They have not mentioned in the advertisement how it will make the final merit list. It is now come to know that they have followed a order from the govt of Assam to consider the marks of screening test also. For this petition, next hearing date is given on 25th April & stay order is imposed till then. Can we respondents, all 34 selected candidates appeal in court to remove the stay order and for advancement of the hearing date. Because some selected candidates already resigned from earlier jobs after declaration of this result. Please suggest.
