Legality of cooking in common area for a function inside apartment complex

Hi, I am Srikanth from Bangalore. I had bought a flat and moved to apartment complex for the first time in my life. After moving in, there were some recent purchases and new co-owners, as part of their house warming occasion are cooking inside the apartment complex. Currently the apartment is under builder's maintenance. And most of the co-owners are negative for that cooking activity, claiming that it is common and are raising their voices against this to the builders. Some community people would prefer to cook on their own instead of going to caterers. This would be hardly a one day activity. And cooking for an occasion cannot be done in a regular kitchen. I do not have any issue with the cooking happening in the compound, as it is a one day activity. As there are more number of co-owners who are opposing it are now planning to add this in the association rules. Even the other co-owner who is hosting the occasion also has the right to use the common area. To defend that from adding to the association rules, I need some legal insight about the law to support my cause. Please help me in defending it. Thanks & Regards, Srikanth C
