Sale of Ancestral Property by Father without Consent of Son

Sir / Madam, We have an 130 year old ancestral property in central Kolkata. It is in very good repair and is used for residential purposes. The house and adjoining land is a joint undivided property and there was never any partition. The family deity resides in this house and we have been holding Durga Puja here for last 127 years and its has quite a heritage building as much as the festivities are covered by national television channels. Naturally we have great sentimental attachment to this house and adjoining land where I was born and brought up. Of late my Father and his brothers and a few of my cousins want to sell the property. Some from my generation are opposed to this idea. My question is two folds [1] can my Father and his brothers sell the ancestral property without my consent, being an ancestral property where they have not made any financial investments and [2]What steps should I take to ensure such a sale does not happen without our knowledge. Thanks and Regards Siddhartha Banerjee
