Powers of session court to stay M.M interim maintainance

My wife as filled a DV case and an interim maintenance order was passed by Metropolitan magistrate. This order was appeal in session court and a stay was provided. Now my wife has filled a writ petition in high court contesting powers vested with session court to stay interim maintenance order. As per petition session court has powers to pass final orders in appeal. He lawyer has done citation of order pass by Karnataka high court SMT Yashaswini Vs Mr Anegudde Ganesh on 29th January 2016 petition n 34469 of 2015 where court has decided \"In the absence of any express or implied provision under the Act and also in the absence of anything conferring the benefits of Section 389 automatically in respect of any or every order in a proceeding under Section 12 of the Act until the Legislature addresses this issue, the Appellate Court has no power to stay the operation of the order passed by the Magistrate with the exception of two situations noticed supra, (1) an order of sentence of imprisonment in a recovery proceeding under Section 125(3) of the Code. (2) In a proceedings under Section 31 and 33 of the Act. 18. The inevitable conclusion is, the interim order passed by the lower appellate court was without jurisdiction and perse illegal. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. The order dated 21.5.2015 passed on I.A.No.1 in Criminal Appeal No.730/2015 by the Principal City Civil and Sessions Judge, Bangalore, is quashed.\" I want to know if there is any other citation on powers on session court as regards stay on MM orders for interim maintenance
