Divorce

My husband lives in US. Due to one unfortunate incident, I walked out on him and I have been living in India since a year. We were in touch but I had made it quite clear that I don't intend to come back and I want a divorce since every attempt to repair the relation failed. He agreed on coming down in December 2016 to file a divorce on mutual consent, however he didn't turn up. Now he is saying he will come in April and I am sure he won't come in April either. He is just dodging. I heard about ex-parte divorce. Can I apply for it? What do I have to do to get an ex-parte divorce? My lawyer said I need to get an email proof from my husband when in he has mentioned his intention of willing to give me a divorce. Our marriage is registered under the Hindu marriage act. I have a few questions 1) Can I apply for ex-parte divorce? 2) Once I apply how long will it take to get the divorce? 3) what do I need to do get this divorce? 4) is this the quickest way of getting a divorce? 5) what if his parents appear on the said date and ask the court to wait for him to come and give another date? 6) in case his parents appear then I won't be granted exparte divorce?
