Questions about property registration in Bangalore for NRIs

I and my wife do not live in India at the moment; we are Indian citizens with an India passport. We have purchased a house in Bangalore (directly from the builder). The house is under construction right now and will be available for possession by Oct/Sep 2017. I have some questions about the registration process and the related Power Of Attorney. As per my understanding (and I could be wrong here, hence this post asking for confirmation & advise) - 1) Registration of the property is generally performed 1-2 months before possession. 2) We will not be in India at that time so it will not be possible for us to perform the registration by ourselves. 3) To execute the registration, we plan on giving a Power of Attorney to my father-in-law who lives in India. That way he can execute the registration on our behalf. My first question is - does what I list above make sense? Have I misunderstood anything? My second question - if everything listed above is ok, where/how can I get the Power of Attorney for my father-in-law? Does it have to a special POA? Do I need to get the POA registered? We will be visiting India in Feb 2017 and plan on taking care of all the legal formalities and paper work then. I guess I am looking for any advice I can get about this.
