There is no time limit for adjournment and it varies from case to case.

Since the progress of trial largely depends on the prosecution , if it takes time then the court does not have much option but to adjourn the case.

If the adjournment is on the ground of absence of any witness then you can ask for closure of is evidence.

Otherwise you can seek direction from high court for expeditious trial of the case in a time bound manner.

1. There is no such specific list of difficulties which can be mentioned for seeking adjournments.

2. It is absolutely up to the Court to allow or reject such adjournment petition depending on the merit of the cause mentioned by the concerned lawyer seeking such adjournment.

There is no specific rule in this regard that the public prosecutor can seek adjournments so many number of times.

The court will ensure to avoid the inordinate delay in cases the PP is trying to adopt dilatory tactics and may pass strict orders on it.

But it is the discretion of court owing to the prevailing situation.

Innumerable times, but it is for the court to accept or reject the plea. If the plea of adjournment is not bona fide the court has to reject it.
