In Andhra Pradesh, the stamp duty for a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) related to a property is typically ₹20.

Additionally, there's a registration fee of ₹3,000 for attestation. If the SPA involves authorizing the sale, transfer, or development of immovable property, it may be treated as a General Power of Attorney (GPA) and the stamp duty would be 1% of the property's market value,

- If you are giving the said SPA for dealing of property to any relative in India then it should be as per the rule of Canada , and must be notarized there and attested from the consulate of India.

- If you are present in India for giving that SPA , then it must be registered if related to property dealings.

In Andhra Pradesh, the stamp duty for a Special Power of Attorney (SPOA) related to immovable property is as follows:

The fixed stamp duty for a Special Power of Attorney is ₹20, regardless of property value.

if you’re executing a SPOA for property matters in Andhra Pradesh, you should use ₹20 non‑judicial stamp paper. If the POA includes authority to sell, develop, construct, or transfer property.

If granted in favour of family member, stamp duty is ₹1,000; if granted to non–family, it’s 1% of the market value (subject to minimum ₹1,000 and max ₹20,000). Registration fee is ₹0.5% of value (capped at ₹20,000).

₹20 on non-judicial stamp paper. Two witnesses required. Registration not mandatory unless related to property transfer—then pay registration fee (₹100 or relevant local fee).

In Andhra Pradesh, the stamp duty for a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) related to immovable property is modest:

Fixed non‑judicial stamp duty of ₹20

Registration fee approx. ₹1,000 at the Sub-Registrar’s office

Important note: If the Power of Attorney grants authority to sell, transfer, develop, or construct the property, it is treated akin to a General Power of Attorney (GPA). In that case:

Stamp duty is charged at 0.5% of the property's market value (subject to a minimum of ₹1,000 and a maximum of ₹20,000)

Registration fee remains the same (~₹1,000)

⚖️ Final Recommendation:

Select a Special POA if your agent is only handling specific tasks (e.g., registration). Use it on ₹20 stamp paper plus registration.

If the POA includes sale, transfer, or development rights, you must pay 0.5% duty on property value + registration fee.
