A president will be selected as per the bylaws of the society, if there's any provision for bringing a president outside the MC then this should be approved by a resolution passed by majority members in a EGM or special meeting.

It can be done only if you have support of majority of members. Depending on the procedure  under byelaws, call a GBM and bring no confidence motion. Elect new MC and new president.

In India, the procedure to appoint a new President from outside the elected management committee varies depending on the organization or institution in question. However, in most cases, the process typically involves the following steps:

Call for Nomination: The current management committee issues a call for nomination of candidates for the position of President.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the organization or institution, such as minimum age, educational qualifications, and experience.

Nomination process: Interested individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by others. The nomination process is usually done through a formal application or letter.

Screening of nominations: The management committee screens the nominations to ensure that all candidates meet the eligibility criteria.

Election: If there is more than one eligible candidate, an election is conducted to determine the new President. The election may be held through secret ballot or through a show of hands.

Announcement of result: The results of the election are announced, and the candidate with the most votes is declared the winner and appointed as the new President.

Note: The exact procedure for selecting a new President may vary depending on the specific rules and regulations of the organization or institution in question

The society is basically governed by the management committee. All its office bearers are elected by the general body directly at the AGM. Once the managing committee is duly formed, its members elect the office-bearers such as the president, the secretary and the treasurer from amongst themselves. This is the procedural law. Where then is the question of electing a president from outside the management committee?

Sir,

Do refer to the Bye-laws of your organization. if it provides such an option, you can appoint a person outside the management committee.
